Training Program
In 2005, VMS proudly expanded our security service by adding a 13,700 square foot training center and the Rio Grande Valley’s first indoor shooting range. Our belief is that safety and security is best obtained by training, training and more training. A well trained staff is able to keep themselves and our clients safe and secure. They are also able to react to unexpected situations because they have been prepared to think and act quickly and professionally. Although most states and many industry organizations adhere to a minimum standards requirement for their security professionals, VMS goes above and beyond in order to ensure that our employees are top of the line professionals. All of our officers are put through a rigorous
6 phase officer training program.
These phases consist of:
1. Pre-Assignment Preparedness
2. Basic Training
3. Site-Specific Instruction
4. Specialized Training
5. Continuous Education
6. Professional Development
Our training team consists of former military, law enforcement, and corporate security experts. They know from experience that nothing replaces outstanding training for all officers in the field.
Training Facility
Our on-site training facility is state –of-the-art. We have a 25’x25’ fully air conditioned classroom equipped with high speed internet access, telephone, and audio/visual aids in order to facilitate and enhance the classroom instruction process. It is a multi-purpose classroom. Its main purpose is the training of our own personnel. However, we also offer classes to the general public.
Classes offered to the public include:
1. Texas Concealed Handgun License (TCHL)
2. Basic Weapon Familiarization
3. Basic Self Defense
